Plants are known to produce a variety of bioactive metabolites which are being used to cure various life threatening and chronic diseases. The molecular mechanism of action of such bioactive molecules may open up new avenues for the scientific community to develop or improve novel therapeutic approaches to tackle dreadful diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular and neurodegenerative disorders etc. Ursolic acid (UA) is one among the categories of such plant-based therapeutic metabolites having multiple intracellular and extracellular targets that play role in apoptosis, metastasis, angiogenesis and inflammatory processes. Ursolic acid (UA) is a pentacyclic triterpenoid widely found in herbs, leaves, flowers and fruits. Moreover, the synthetic derivatives of UA have also been seen to be involved in a range of pharmacological applications, the great interest in this bioactive compound is related to the beneficial effects in human health due to antioxidant, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, hepatoprotective, immunomodulatory, anti-tumor, chemopreventive, cardioprotective, antihyperlipidemic and hypoglycemic activities, and others. UA may augment the resistance of the skin barrier to irritants, prevent dry skin and could be suitable to develop antiaging products. Evidences suggest that UA could be used as a potential candidate to develop a comprehensive competent strategy towards the treatment and prevention of health disorders. The review article herein describes the possible therapeutic effects of UA along with putative mechanism of action.

The most frequently mentioned medicinal plants and herbs are  Panax quinquefolium, Coccinia indica, Azadirachta indica, Laurus nobilis ,Trigonella foenum-graecum, Berberine, Syzygium cumini, Terminalia chebula, Ficus racemosa, Momordica charantia, Quassia amara, Swietenia mahagoni, Cinnamon etc. The purpose of this systematic review to summarizes diabetes preventing traditional medicinal plants and herbs.

PRIVACY –PRESERVING DATA VAULTS: SAFE GUARDING PILL INFORMATION IN THE DIGITAL AGE

International Journal of Innovative Research in Advanced Engineering Bhuman Vyas Oct 30, 2019 DOI: 10.26562/ijirae.2019.v0610.04

Protecting sensitive medical data, including prescription and pill data, during its handling and storage is critical in the digital era. Data vaults that protect privacy provide a strong way to protect this information, guaranteeing that patient information is kept private but yet available for authorised uses. Focussing on the safe preservation of pharmaceutical data, this project investigates the creation of sophisticated algorithms for privacy-preserving data vaults. We start by contrasting the suggested innovative technique, which combines elements of Zero-Knowledge Proofs with Enhanced Homomorphic Encryption, with other known cryptographic and data masking algorithms, such as Differential Privacy, Secure Multi-Party Computation, and Homomorphic Encryption. Data integrity, computational efficiency, and resistance to different attack vectors are some of the characteristics used in the comparison. As the results show, the suggested method offers aimproved performance against confidentiality compromises, especially in real-time data retrieval scenarios, while existing techniques offer varied degrees of efficiency and security. But this comes with more implementation complexity and processing overhead. Improved security characteristics, like less data leakage and strong user authentication systems, are benefits of the suggested approach. Large-scale applications may experience latency problems and require more powerful hardware, which are drawbacks. The trade-offs between various data privacy strategies are highlighted in this study, and it also highlights the necessity for on-going innovation in privacy-preserving technology, which makes a contribution to the region.

PHYTOCHEMICAL INVESTIGATION AND PHARMACOLOGICAL EVALUATION OF LEAVES OF ZIZIPHUS MAURITIANA FOR WOUND HEALING ACTIVITY IN ALBINO RATS

Tropical Journal of Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences Ramesh Kumar Verma, Monika Pandey, Manish Dev Indoria et al. Mar 16, 2018 DOI: 10.61280/tjpls.v5i1.8

Various medicinal plants are used in traditional system of medicine to treat various diseases and many of these plants have been evaluated for their different pharmacological activities Ziziphus mauritiana one of them. The present work deals with the study of ethanolic extract of leaves of ziziphus mauritiana for its wound healing potency. An excision wound was inflicted by cutting away a 500 mm2 full thickness of skin from a predetermined area an impression was made on the dorsal thoracic region 1cm away from vertebral column and 5cm away from ear on the anaesthetized Rats. Wound contraction was measured as percentage contraction in each 2 days after wound formation from the healed wound. The wound healing was evaluated by using two different models viz. full thickness excision and dead space wound models. The reading were recorded on 1,3,5,7,9,11,13,15,17 and 19th day after post wound day. The ZMLE and standard drug were applied daily to the wound area daily. The healing was assessed by physical parameters like percentage wound contraction, epithelisation and determination of hydroxyproline. The treatment with the ZMLE produced the anti-inflammatory activity against excision wound model and dead space wound model. The ZMLE showed anti-inflammatory activity against Excision wound when compared to the standard cipladine (povidine iodine 5%w/w). There were significant reduction in days required to healing and hydroxyproline and weight of wet and dry granuloma tissue were increased significantly by the treatment with ZMLE. Healing of excision wound were promoted significantly by treatment with ZMLE, ZMLE promoted the wound contraction and reduced the days required for epithelisation. ZMLE possesses significant anti-inflammatory and wound healing properties.

The present study was aimed to develop a novel simple, accurate, precise, robust and economic UV-spectrophotometric method for estimation of benidipine hydrochloride in pharmaceutical formulation. The developed method was validated with accordance to ICH Q2 (R1) guidelines. Beer’s law was obeyed in the concentration range 1-3.5µg/mL with correlation coefficient of 0.9938. The sensitivity was checked as the limit of detection and limit of quantitation which were found to be 0.04540 and 0.1375µg/mL respectively. A further study of the accuracy of the proposed method was performed using standard addition method.  It can be concluded that the developed method was specific, selective, precise and robust. This method could be successfully applied for analysis of benidipine hydrochloride in its pharmaceutical formulation.
