Yes, a valid ISSN (International Standard Serial Number) is mandatory for journal indexing. This is a fundamental identifier for serial publications. If your journal doesn't have an ISSN, you can apply for one through your national ISSN centre. Visit issn.org to find your national centre.
Yes, publishers can submit multiple journals for indexing. Each journal will be evaluated independently based on its own merits. You can manage all your submitted journals from your Publisher Dashboard.
The evaluation process typically takes 7 to 21 working days from the date of submission. This includes an initial screening (1-3 days), detailed evaluation (5-10 days), and final review (3-5 days). You can track your journal's status in real-time from your Publisher Dashboard.
We evaluate journals based on multiple criteria including: editorial board quality and diversity, peer review process, publication ethics and COPE compliance, content quality, digital accessibility (DOI, metadata), publication regularity, website professionalism, and transparency of business practices. See our full Selection Criteria page for details.
If your journal is rejected, you will receive a detailed email explaining the reasons. You can resubmit after addressing the identified issues. We recommend waiting at least 3 months before resubmission to allow time for meaningful improvements. Common rejection reasons include lack of peer review process, missing ISSN, irregular publication schedule, or inadequate editorial board.
When we request a revision, it means your journal meets most of our criteria but needs specific improvements before approval. You will receive an email detailing exactly what changes are needed. Once you have made the changes, update your submission through the Publisher Dashboard, and our team will re-evaluate your journal.
Being indexed in RJRIndex provides several benefits:
- Increased visibility and discoverability for your journal
- Official indexing certificate with QR verification
- Detailed journal profile with analytics and metrics
- Article-level indexing with DOI resolution
- Citation export tools for your articles (APA, MLA, Chicago, BibTeX, RIS)
- Inclusion in our XML sitemaps for search engine optimization
- Embeddable "Indexed in RJRIndex" badge for your website
Once your journal is approved and indexed, an indexing certificate is automatically generated. You can download the PDF certificate from your Publisher Dashboard. The certificate includes a QR code that links to a public verification page, allowing anyone to verify your journal's indexing status.
Yes, journals can be removed from the index if they no longer meet our quality standards, cease publication, engage in unethical practices, or upon the publisher's request. We conduct periodic reviews of indexed journals to ensure continued compliance with our standards. All removals are documented in our public transparency log.
You can update your journal's information through the Publisher Dashboard. Log in to your account, go to your journal, and click "Edit". Changes to critical fields may require re-evaluation. For major changes (e.g., change of publisher, ISSN), please contact us directly.
RJRIndex integrates with CrossRef API to automatically retrieve and index article metadata including DOI, authors, abstracts, keywords, and references. We also use web crawling to extract articles from journal archives. This ensures comprehensive and accurate article-level indexing.
RJRIndex supports citation export in 5 formats: APA (7th Edition), MLA, Chicago, BibTeX, and RIS. You can export citations for any indexed article directly from the article detail page. BibTeX and RIS formats can be imported into reference management software like Zotero, Mendeley, and EndNote.
API access is currently under development. We plan to provide a public API for querying journal and article metadata. In the meantime, you can use our search and sitemap features to access our data. Contact us if you have specific integration requirements.
