Ultrafast magnetization switching by combination of self-induced torque and spin transfer torque
Abstract
We studied the interplay between self-induced torque (SIT) and spin transfer torque (STT) in a magnetic tunnel junction, achieving ultrafast magnetization switching. By incorporating both the torques into the Landau–Lifshitz–Gilbert–Slonczewski (LLGS) equation, we significantly reduce the switching time from the nanosecond (ns) range to the picosecond (ps) range thereby enhancing energy-efficient spintronic and data storage technologies.
