Abstract

To investigate the crystallization behavior and controllability of the crystal structure of MoO3, we conducted crystallization of amorphous MoO3 (a-MoO3) and a structural phase transition of polycrystalline MoO3 through post-treatment processes, such as thermal or flashlamp annealing, followed by the crystal structure analyses by x-ray diffraction. These results clarified the relationship between the activation energies of the crystallization of a-MoO3 to α-MoO3 or β-MoO3, as well as the structural phase transition of β-MoO3 to α-MoO3. Additionally, we demonstrated the controllability of MoO3 crystals using these processes.
