A bioinspired photoadaptive self-protection vision system based on CsPbBr3 perovskite photonic synapses
Abstract
The development of advanced neuromorphic vision systems with intelligent, photoadaptive self-protection requires concerted innovations at both the device and circuit levels. Herein, we proposed a CsPbBr3-based photoadaptive self-protection system with capabilities for intrinsic light-protective behavior by integrating the CsPbBr3 photonic synapses (Cs-PS) with a custom-designed circuit and a biomimetic eye mechanism. By leveraging the light illumination-dependent defect-driven dynamics of the Cs-PS, the biomimetic eye features intrinsic photoadaptation and eyelids that close gradually in response to rising light levels, mimicking the intelligent protective mechanism of the human visual system against intense light. This work demonstrates a potential foundation toward the future prospective humanoid robots and artificial intelligence.
