Abstract

The Split introduces a real-time UPI-enabled frame work designed to automate multi-party financial settlement at the moment an expense is created. Traditional group payment methods depend on a single individual covering the full cost and subsequently collecting repayments, a process that often leads to delays, inconsistencies, and interpersonal discomfort. The proposed system integrates distributed computational logic, Razor pay’s UPI collect mechanism, and Sup a base-based real-time database synchronization to ensure immediate settlement across all participating users. This research investigates the architectural design, operational workflows, and performance characteristics of the system through controlled experiments and real-world evaluations. Results indicate that the system demonstrates consistent computational accuracy, resilient callback synchronization, and efficient network behavior under varying user conditions. The study further acknowledges the influence of regulatory and Technological developments in India’s digital payment ecosystem, such as UPI procedural standards and Payment Aggregator guidelines, which shape the constraints and potential of The Split. The findings emphasize the feasibility of real-time group settlement and highlight the growing need for automated solutions within financial technology ecosystems.
