Stretchable metasurface design for non-diffracting beam manipulation
Abstract
A stretchable non-diffraction lens based on the serpentine stretchable metasurface is proposed for non-diffraction beam manipulation. To achieve good mechanical property, the serpentine structure printed on the polydimethylsiloxane substrate is designed as the meta cells. Through the arrangement of serpentine meta cells, the proposed lens effectively converts the plane waves into the oblique non-diffraction surface waves. By stretching the flexible metasurface, the inclined angle of non-diffraction beams can be adjusted. Experimental results show that the angle of non-diffraction at 3.8°–13.6° can be continuously adjusted for the metasurface stretched from 0 to 6 mm. The proposed non-diffractive meta-lens with beam manipulation is suitable for multi-target covert communication, medical imaging, and microfabrication.
