Simultaneous differential scanning calorimetry–photoluminescence spectroscopy for Eu-doped LiYO2 phosphor with tunable phase transition
Abstract
Eu-doped LiYO2 exhibits pronounced photoluminescence (PL) changes driven by its structural phase transition, offering a highly sensitive platform for optical thermometers. In this study, we effectively tuned the phase transition temperature by adjusting the doping concentration, allowing the sensing capability to be tailored to specific temperature ranges. Moreover, a coupled differential scanning calorimetry–photoluminescence (DSC–PL) system was developed to simultaneously monitor the correlation of phase transition and luminescence spectrum. The DSC thermal signal relating to the phase transition was identified to coincide with significant changes in the luminescence spectrum, establishing a direct link between the two processes. This DSC-PL technique is well-suited to address the need for a direct thermal–optical correlation in numerous applications.
