Abstract
Holography is a technique that can capture the full light information of an object, including both intensity and phase. Because of this, it can create realistic 3D images that show depth and perspective naturally. Unlike normal cameras, which flatten everything into 2D, holography preserves the entire light field. This paper gives an overview of how holography works, its evolution, the role of digital and computer-generated holograms, and where it is used. We also discuss emerging technologies like AI-based reconstruction and quantum holography.
