HF‐Free Manufacturing of Fluorochemicals from Fluorspar

Abstract

Abstract Fluorochemicals are vital in modern chemistry, from batteries to agrochemicals and pharmaceuticals. However, their production still relies on a centuries‐old method involving the production of hydrofluoric acid (HF). Recently, Gouverneur and co‐workers developed innovative, and more sustainable approaches starting from naturally occurring fluorspar (CaF₂), reducing environmental impact.
