Full Stack: Improvising Rural E-Commerce

P Prof.Anjali Gajjar

Abstract

Local retail businesses face significant operational challenges due to fragmented manual procurement processes, limited supplier access, and lack of digital infrastructure. This paper presents the design and implementation of a business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce platform that connects local store owners with regional suppliers through a unified digital marketplace. The platform addresses critical inefficiencies including manual ordering, high transaction costs, inconsistent inventory management, and poor supply chain visibility. Built using Spring Boot for backend microservices, Node.js for real-time notifications, and React.js for the frontend interface, the system provides automated procurement workflows, real-time inventory synchronization, bulk ordering capabilities, flexible payment options, and comprehensive analytics dashboards. The methodology emphasizes agile development with user-centric design principles, incorporating direct feedback from local businesses during iterative development cycles. Testing phases including unit testing, integration testing, and system testing validate the platform's functionality, security, and performance under load conditions. The platform demonstrates measurable improvements in operational efficiency, order accuracy, and supply chain transparency for local retailers. By reducing digital barriers and automating traditional procurement workflows, this solution empowers small and medium-sized retailers to compete effectively in modern commerce while strengthening local economic ecosystems.
