Estimation of Skipjack Tuna (Katsuwonus pelamis) Fishing Areas in Fisheries Management Area 573 Waters Based on Oceanographic Parameters and Fish Movement Patterns, Indonesia
Abstract
Sendang Biru waters were one of the waters in IFMA 573 that contribute a lot to the catch of Skipjack tuna. The Ina-WIS program was an interactive maritime weather information system developed by BMKG that can be used for Fishing Area Estimation. This study aims to analyze oceanographic parameters, the relationship between oceanographic parameters and DPI, and analyze fish movement patterns and their relationship to DPI of Skipjack tuna (Katsuwonus pelamis) in Sendang Biru waters. The method used in this study is quantitative descriptive. The oceanographic parameters used in this study are currents, thermal fronts and upwelling, and Sea Surface Temperature (SST) data and chlorophyll-concentrations are used to strengthen the oceanographic parameter data (Thermal front and upwelling). The research data comes from Aqua-MODIS satellite imagery, while the current map comes from Ina-WIS BMKG. The research obtained based on the oceanographic parameter conditions in the Sendang Biru Waters (IFMA 573 Waters) April - May 2024 can be used as a DPI for Katsuwonus pelamis. The SPL conditions and chlorophyll-a concentration in May at the thermal front location have an SPL ranging from 26.58 - 28.93 ° C and chlorophyll-a concentration of 0.18 mg / m³. It is recommended that in April and May, skipjack tuna fishing be carried out around the East in the Southern part of Java Island (9 ° 0'0 - 9 ° 30'0 LS and 113 ° 0'0 - 113 ° 30'0 BT) and the West of the Southern part of Java Island (9 ° 0'0 - 9 ° 30'0 LS and 112 ° 0'0 - 112 ° 30'0 BT). Thus, it can be said that the movement pattern of skipjack tuna can be influenced by the conditions of oceanographic parameters, direction and speed of currents and Sea Surface Temperature (SST).
