E-Crime Reporting System Using Digital Technology for Faster and Accurate Crime Management
Abstract
The Crime Reporting System is a web-based (or mobile-based) application designed to streamline the process of reporting, managing, and tracking criminal activities. The system serves as a bridge between citizens and law enforcement agencies, enabling individuals to report crimes efficiently and securely from any location. Traditional methods of crime reporting often involve lengthy procedures, physical presence at police stations, and delays in processing complaints. This system aims to eliminate such inefficiencies by offering a digital platform that allows users to submit crime reports, upload evidence (such as images, videos, or documents), and receive updates on the status of their cases in real time. The existing manual processes for crime reporting are often inefficient, time-consuming, and can deter citizens from reporting incidents, leading to incomplete records and delayed law enforcement response. This project addresses these limitations by designing and implementing an Online Crime Reporting System. The primary objective is to provide a secure, accessible, and user-friendly web-based platform for the public to file crime complaints and First Information Reports (FIRs) anytime and from any location, thus bridging the communication gap between citizens and law enforcement agencies. The system is developed using [Mention your core technology, e.g., HTML, PHP, and MySQL] and incorporates several key modules:
