Dynamics of three bubbles in a line driven by ultrasound
Abstract
Dynamic equations describing the pulsation, translation, and deformation of three-cavitation bubbles were derived using potential flow and perturbation theory. The effect of initial translation velocity, ultrasound frequency, initial bubble radius, and distance between bubbles on bubble dynamics was investigated based on the dynamic equations. Numerical simulation results revealed that as the initial translation velocities increased, the secondary Bjerknes forces (SBFs) of the bubbles exhibited distinct interaction characteristics for the three-cavitation bubble structures with different initial radii. In addition, in certain parameter ranges, the SBF decreased with increased ultrasonic frequency and distance between bubbles and increased as the initial bubble radius increased. This study provides guidance for understanding the dynamics of three-cavitation bubble structures.
