Cloud Based Emergency Response System Using IOT & Real -Time Dashboard
Abstract
Rapid detection and quick response to emergencies are crucial for the protection of human life and property and infrastructure. The aim of this research work is to present the design and development of a Cloud-Based Emergency Response System using Internet of Things and a Real-Time Dashboard that would automate the hazard detection and enhance situational awareness. The system is monitoring several environmental parameters employing sensors on board: gas (MQ-2/MQ-135), temperature (DHT11/LM35), motion-PIR, and panic buttons-to detect fire outbreak, gas leak, intrusion, and user-generated emergencies. ESP32/ESP8266 serves as the core processing unit of the system; it collects and classifies sensor data into normal, warning, and emergency states. The processed data is sent to a cloud platform-Firebase/Blynk-that stores data in real time and visualizes and generates alerts. The paper has used a web and mobile dashboard displaying live reading, event logs, color-coded warnings to improve user interaction and decision-making. The alert notifications go simultaneously as emails, push notifications, buzzers, and LEDs for timely awareness. Performance was evaluated in terms of reliability, responsiveness, and scalability for various simulated emergency test cases, and the results assure effective real-time communication, low latency, and correct alert generation. The model presented here is cost-effective, scalable, and can be deployed in homes, schools, offices, and small industries because it offers an intelligent, proactive, efficient solution for modern emergency management and safety monitoring.
