Challenges and Solutions in Mutual Redistribution of Routing Protocols
Abstract
Mutual route protocol redistribution poses some major difficulties when dealing with heterogeneous network infrastructures. The key technical and operational problems of protocol redistribution, such as routing loops, administrative distance conflicts, metric incompatibility, and policy control complexity, will be discussed. We suggest a number of optimized solutions for better protocol interoperability and efficient network performance. Particular emphasis is given to the solutions regarding route filtering, administrative distance tuning, and metric conversion techniques. These approaches further minimize not only potential loop scenarios but also help maintain stability and scalability of network operations across multi-protocol infrastructures.
